Crypt Lake Trail is a 17 kilometre return trail which can be only accessed by shuttle boat leaving from the Waterton Townsite. Well worth the effort as it leads to many wilderness experiences like passing by 4 waterfalls, climbing a cliff ladder, crawling through a natural tunnel of rock and arriving in a valley of cliffs with an alpine aqua-green lake. Plan for a full day.
Snowshoe Trail is a mountain biking adventure following an old fire road and some single track trails for over 16 kilometres return. The route leads to a forest ranger cabin and views of mountain peaks. Trailhead located on Chief Mountain Highway.
Bears Hump Trail is a short, difficult uphill hiking trail leading to the top of a mountain providing views of the lake and village. The one way trail measures 1.4 kilometres with an elevation gain of 210 metres. Trailhead is located near the Townsite Information Centre.
Kootenai Brown Pioneer Village is a historic village located in the village of Pincher Creek, Alberta located north of the park. The village includes heritage buildings, guides and artifacts dating back to the early 1900s depicting the life of Watereton's first park ranger named "Kootenai" Brown.
Tamarack Trail is a challenging multi day backpacking adventure measuring 31 kilometres (20 miles) and takes up to 2-3 days to complete the one way route. The trail leads to Twin Lakes, Lone Lake, wildflower meadows and to views of Mount Lineham and Mount Rowe. A selection of wilderness camping opportunities are located along the route.
