The community of Okotoks, Alberta, Canada has established a trail network exploring the Sheep River Valley. Throughout the community there is over 40 kilometres of designated recreation routes connecting to attractions, parks and established and incorporated in 1904

Much of the history, historical buildings of Okotoks are on display in a section of the community called Olde Towne.

The Okotoks Agricultural Society is the oldest in Alberta, Canada. It was first established in 1892. During the years the facility has grown supporting and hosting events and clubs. Activities enjoyed include cattle penning, team roping, horse shows and even dog shows.

The Blackfoot First Nation called the region "Okatok" which means rock. The rock they were refering to is the maasive glacial rock located in a field west of the community. The rock is an attraction known as the Erratic Rock.
