Wood Buffalo National Park: Established in 1922 the park is Canada's largest National Park . It is 44,800 square kilometres and was first established to protect the wild herds of wood buffalo. Rocky Lane Trails: Located east of High Level, Alberta the Rocky Lane Trails measure 33 kilometres (22 miles) and are considered some of the best recreation trails in the area for cross country skiing in the winter and for mountain biking and hiking in the summer. |

Buttertown Loop: Located near Fort Vermillion, Alberta the loop trail follows the river banks of the Peace River and the Boyer River. Trail is easily accessed from Highway 697 and is popular for hiking and mountain biking. |

La Crete Biking Trail: Near the village of La Crete, Alberta there is a series of easy going walking and biking trails connecting the village with some campgrounds. |

Watt Mountain: The mountain is a popular year round activity and adventure playground. During the winter months the trails on the mountain are popular for snowmobiling and during the summer months for mountain biking. horseback riding and hiking. |
