Highway #43 is the main highway route traveling west-east that connects with the community of Grande Prairie, Alberta. The highway is a main connector route when traveling to and from Edmonton.

Highway #40 is a main access highway when arriving in Grande Prairie from the south of the province, Jasper National Park, Banff National Park and from the province of British Columbia, Canada.

Highway #2 is a north-south highway which connects the community of Grande Prairie with Sexsmith and the rest of Northern Alberta. Highway #2 connects with Highway #43, Highway #59 and Highway #674.
