 Located on the banks of the Red Deer River in the heart of the Canadian Badlands in South-Central Alberta, Canada. The community is well known around the world for its historic fossil finds, dinosaur attractions, canyons and the "World's Tallest Dinosaur".

Many of these destinations provide views of the Red Deer River and the surrounding canyons, prairie grasslands, red rock coulees and hoodoo pillars.

During the Summer months the river, parks and trails are popular recreation destinations for activity. Some of the activities enjoyed in the summer months include hiking, mountain biking, sightseeing, flightseeing, canoeing, fishing, river kayaking, swimming, golfing, picnicking, off roading and birdwatching.

During the winter months, after the snow has fallen and the temperatures have dropped, some of the activities enjoyed in the Drumheller Valley include cross country skiing, ice fishing and snowmobiling.

There are many services located in Drumheller, Alberta that are important to travelers. Some of the services include accommodations, restaurants, gas stations, grocery stores, liquor stores, pubs, campgrounds, internet, coffee shops, taxi service, gift stores, post office, laundromat, medical services, airport, tours, art galleries and museums.

The main industry in the Drumheller Valley region was the coal industry until about the 1940s. Today, the main industry in the region includes agriculture, tourism and the oil and gas industries.
