Orkney Lookout is a very simple, somewhat private natural lookout point situated on the high red rock cliffs - above the Red Deer River - located west of the community of Drumheller, Alberta, Canada.

The viewpoint lookout provides sweeping views of the Red Deer Valley. You can watch, as the river snakes its way through the valley for many kilometres.
The valley views consists of rolling coulees, hoodoos, grasslands, birds and the Bleriot Ferry crossing. All are best viewed with a set of binoculars.
The Orkney Lookout viewpoint in Drumheller, Alberta is easily accessible, enjoys a large gravel parking lot and is RV friendly... although the short gravel road accessing the viewpoint can be a bit rough.
There is no fence on the cliff, so hold children close. There are a couple of information signs about the canola fields in the area for any interested parties.
How to Get to the Orkney Lookout:
Travel to the community of Drumheller, Alberta, Canada. From downtown Drumheller at the corner of main street (Centre Street) and 3rd Avenue travel south on Centre Street to South Dinosaur Trail (Secondary Road #575). Road #575 merges into Secondary Road #837. Continue traveling west on #837 towards the Bleriot Ferry. As you approach the ferry the lookout is on your right. The ferry is 25 kilometres from Drumheller.
