Crowsnest Valley is a unique municipality consisting of small hamlets and towns located in the Crowsnest Pass of the Rocky Mountains in the southwest region of Alberta, Canada.
Highway # 3 travels through Crowsnest Pass. The highway is the most southern transportation route in Alberta connecting to the province of British Columbia. Located on Highway #3 in the Crowsnest Pass are the communities of Coleman, Blairmore, Frank, Bellevue and Hillcrest.
Throughout Crowsnest Valley are a network of recreation trails, spur roads and gravel access roads. There are also numerous creeks and streams flowing down from the mountains connecting to lakes and the Crowsnest River. It is an environment made for year round adventures and activities.
During the summer months some of the more popular activities enjoyed in the region include hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, fishing, golfing, off roading, canoeing, kayaking, wind surfing, birdwatching, rock climbing, caving and camping.
In the winter months after the ground is covered with snow and the lakes & rivers have frozen over there are many popular winter activities to enjoy. Some of the more popular snow activities include cross country skiing, snowmobiling, ice fishing, snowshoeing, downhill skiing and snowboarding.
Each community is different in what services they provide travelers year round. However, the communities are real close to each other. It is only 12 kilometres between Coleman in the west of Crowsnest Pass to Bellevue in the east of Crowsnest Pass.
Some of the services important to travelers in Crowsnest Pass include accommodations, campgrounds, tours, guides, resorts, gas stations, restaurants, grocery stores, post office, liquor store, ATM, museums, art galleries, antique stores, pubs and laundromats.
