Ranchlands, farmlands and recreation community located on the banks of the Bow River - next door to the Rocky Mountain Range - in the Southern Alberta region of Alberta, Canada.
The history of Cochrane, Alberta, Canada has long been a cowboy and cattle ranching one. It is here where Senator Matthew Cochrane enjoyed the countryside so much so that he decided to settle in the area and establish one of the largest cattle operations at that time . called the Cochrane Ranche.
Today Cochrane, Alberta still enjoys a very western and cowboy feel to it. The downtown streets are lined with older buildings reminiscent of the pioneer days. Nearby, there are various farms and local produce, ranches with horses and some pastures decorated with red barns, tractors and grazing cattle.
