Hamlet of Bragg Creek

Bragg Creek, Alberta, Canada is a small hamlet situated on the banks of a creek in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. The village is a sightseeing destination and a launching point for year round recreational adventures in the backcountry.

Bragg Creek neighbors two of Alberta's most popular recreational outdoor destinations - Kananaskis Country and the Banff National Park. Immediately located to the south and west of the village is Kananaskis Country. Just north of Kananaskis Country is the Banff National Park.

Moose Mountain forms part of the front range of the Rockies and is the source of the creek (Bragg Creek) in the village. The rural setting, country atmosphere and the wilderness environment attracts many people and wildlife to the region including bear, moose and cougar.

The backcountry wilderness areas provide an opportunity for many year round adventures. During the summer Bragg Creek is a doorway to activities like hiking, cycling, horseback riding, camping, backpacking, mountain biking, kayaking, birdwatching, canoeing, rock climbing, fishing and more.

During the winter months, after the snow has fallen, the adventures continue in the backcountry. A short drive to the parks located west of the hamlet provide opportunities for adventures like cross country skiing, downhill skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, ice fishing and ice climbing.

In the core centre of Bragg Creek, Alberta are small village streets, country homes and unique shopping experiences. Some of the shops include art galleries, antique boutiques and unique gift & craft stores. Nearby are Bed and Breakfasts, campgrounds, golf courses and tour companies. Basic services are also available in Bragg Creek like grocery stores, gas stations, banks and restaurants.

Bragg Creek Centennial Pathway is a 2 kilometre recreation trail which explores the village centre before connecting with the wilderness parklands of the Bragg Creek Provincial Park. The provincial park includes a day use area with picnic tables, playground, BBQ pits and washrooms.

Other destinations - ideal for sightseeing - located close to Bragg Creek, Alberta include the McLean Creek Recreation Area, Station Flats (picnic area), Allen Bill Pond and Elbow Falls (picnic area).
