Alberta heritage sites and historical landmarks that are located throughout the province share the cultures and remember the traditions of Alberta's history.
Throughout the province of Alberta there are many well preserved and protected historical sites. Most are national and provincial sites. A few are recognized as UNESCO Heritage Sites.

Many of the historical and heritage landmarks are protected within the boundaries of an Alberta park. The parks are historical destinations, as well as, activity and adventure destinations.
Some of the heritage and historical sites in the province include dinosaur archeological dig sites, land slides, heritage rivers, fur trading posts, North West Mounted Police forts, wildlife sanctuaries, pioneer settlements, historical homesteads and First Nation villages, battle sites and hunting grounds.
Heritage and historical sites vary greatly. Some sites are free admission and are as simple as a self guided walk along a pathway decorated with sitting benches and information signs.
The more developed sites tend to be paying attractions with an assortment of various services and amenities. Some of the extras may include museums, gift stores, restaurants, art galleries, ancient exhibits, artifacts, movie theatres, board rooms, interpretive tours and actors dressed in period clothing.
