The largest group of accommodations available to travelers when exploring in the province. Most every Alberta, Canada city, town and village has a motel or inn operating in the community.

There are large corporate chains of motels, inns and hotels and there are accommodations which are privately run and family operated.

Some motels, hotels and inns operate in modern buildings, some in unique architectural designed buildings and a few in historic stone and brick buildings.

Most sleeping rooms in an Alberta motel, hotel and inn accommodation includes the basic amenities like beds, TV, coffee maker, washroom, fridge, desk (table) and an alarm clock.

Higher end Alberta accommodations can include many more amenities including laundry service, room service, in-room living area, shuttle services, car rentals, tours, restaurants, spas, gyms, boardrooms, under ground parking, conference facilities, gift shops, swimming pools, hot tubs, day care, pubs and more.

Alberta Hotels

Hotels tend to be large, vertical standing buildings with many floors filled with rooms. Each Alberta hotel room's door opens up to a hallway. At the main entrance of the accommodation there is a front desk. The front desk welcomes travelers, provides information and assists in preparing for tours. Alberta hotels tend to be located in the community close to services and near airports.

Alberta Motels

Motels tend to be built out horizontally and are usually 1 or 2 floors. The room doors open and face the parking lot of the motel. Motels tend to be are located on the outskirts of town and near the downtown.

Inns, in many cases, operate from character buildings. Many are located in the country or on main transportation routes. Alberta Inns tend to offer onsite food and beverage services, meeting and banquet facilities and selected recreational activities.
