Alberta bed and breakfasts, Canada A B&B is a unique type of accommodation where one takes up occupancy in a home of a local resident who lives in the community. The home owner, the host, provides travelers with a sleeping room and provides a breakfast every morning.

The exception are the larger B&B inns which are, sometimes, managed by hired staff. B&B inns may also provide a restaurant and lounge for meals and room service... plus there may be a spa, sauna, games room and/or pub.

The quality of an Alberta, Canada bed & breakfast varies from very basic to very elegant and from very small to extremely large accommodation rooms. Some rooms are almost like self contained suites without the kitchen and others are one room accommodations with a bed.

In most cases, a home based bed and breakfast manages 1-3 sleeping rooms. While the larger bed and breakfast inns sometimes provide up to 10 or more rooms. B&B rooms, may or may not, include a tv, phone, internet, fridge, coffee, sitting area and movies.

Each Alberta bed and breakfast is different. There are B&Bs with private washrooms and some with shared washrooms. Some enjoy a private entrance while others use the front door of the home. Some have patios with amazing views, some are on the bus route in the middle of the city.

All Alberta B&Bs provide a breakfast. Some provide a home cooked breakfast served in your room while others serve breakfast at the kitchen table of the home with other guests and your host. A few stock a fridge in your room and you are on your own.
